1. What is the VA?
The VA is a coalition of Kinships that work together to participate in end game content, specifically raids.
2. How do I join the VA?
The VA has no official member list, so it is always open to anyone that would like to come. To have your Kinship officially listed as a part of the VA simply send an officer to any VA meeting, which are the first Saturday of every other month, and announce your kinship at roll call.
3. What do I need to do to participate in VA raids?
The only thing you need to do is sign up for any particular raid you want to participate in on the event sign up board. Raid sign ups are open to all on a first come, first serve basis based on class need. Your kinship does not need to officially be a member of the VA to participate, and you do not need to attend a meeting or anything like that to come. The raid sign ups are free to all.
4. What is the Rift Raid member list?
Do I need to sign it to participate in raids? If I signed the member list how do I get into a raid? The Rift Raid member list is simply a list that is used for ladder purposes to help identify alts of players currently on the Rift Raid ladder. It is not required to sign the list. It is just for convenience sake to help us know who is interested in going with us. To sign up for an actual raid, sign up on the specific raid sign up post that you would like to go on.
5. How does loot work with the VA raids?
VA Rift raids use a ladder system for the gems from the rift. For a detailed explanation of how the ladder works please see the ladder forum. In addition to the ladder there is also a 1 teal per raid limit for other teal drops (not including the gems). This includes Eimer's choker and the Broken Chain, and any other random teal drop. VA Helegrod raids do not us a ladder system, but do follow a 1 teal per raid limit, which does include all armor barter pieces and the single item quest pieces.
6. If I think there is a problem with the ladder, what should I do?
If you identify what you think is an error on the ladder, anything from misspelled names, two alts being listed separately, etc., please send an I.M. in the VA forums to any of the moderators listed in the Ladder Updates section.
7. What is Vent? How do I get it? Do I have to have it?
Vent is short for Ventrilo. It is a free voice chat program that is more reliabel than in game chat that we like to use on VA Rift Raids. Ventrilo is similar to teamspeak. To download it you simply go to www.ventrilo.com and download the free client. We will give your server info during the raid. It is not absolutely necessary to have it, but it is highly encouraged. We have done it before with in game chat since some people cannot use Vent, but we always prefer to use Vent as it is much more reliable than in game.
