History

The Vilya Alliance was the result of a successful attempt at creating a server-wide chat channel in late October 2007.  The original intention of the channel was to allow smaller kinships to join together in order to fill groups and raids. At the time, The Vilya server had the third lowest total population of the eleven Lotro servers, and it was becoming apparent from within this virtual world that intercommunication among the kinships was going to become a necessity.

A custom channel aptly named, ‘Unite’ was created, and during the course of a few days the concept of using the channel began to grow.  It became necessary to organize a meeting of the kinships in order to create guidelines for its use.

Only eight days after the channel’s original conception, over 20 leaders and officers from almost a dozen of Vilya’s kinships met in Bree.  One of the items on the agenda for the initial meeting was whether to create a name for the organization. It was voted on, and since then we have been known as the Vilya Alliance.
